About the author
Jonathan Wood
Founder, Muse Cyber · Cybersecurity Leader
Jonathan is a cybersecurity leader whose career began in the Royal Navy and in specialist intelligence work. He has since spent much of it inside central government, supporting intelligence agencies and departments of state on security problems where the cost of getting things wrong goes well beyond money. That background shapes how he works today: pragmatic solutions, clear about what genuinely matters, and comfortable making decisions before every fact is in.
He founded Muse Cyber to bring that same discipline to scaling businesses. Growing companies are now asked to meet security standards their customers once reserved for government and critical national infrastructure, and most face that scrutiny long before they can justify a full-time CISO. Jonathan leads the Muse fractional cybersecurity teams, giving founders and boards senior security leadership on retainer: practical, commercially grounded, and aimed at winning customer confidence rather than simply ‘answering the questionnaire’.
